New York contains New York City, which attracts many tourists each year. To name just a few, the city includes the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, and Central Park. The state of New York has just under twenty million people and is currently the fourth most populous state in America. New York's population includes Catholics, Protestants, Jews, and Muslims. Although New York is mostly known for New York City, the entire state is not metropolitan. New Yorkers are often stereotyped as being rude and arrogant because of their fast-paced lifestyles. Though, outside of New York City, there are many rural areas where people are known to be very friendly. The state of New York is diverse in both culture and population. The majority of people speak English, but New York contains many different nationalities. The "Empire State" is well known for its wide array of food, including pizza, hot dogs, and cheesecake.
